Ordering & Customization
How does the customization process work?
It's simple. Just click the "Upload Photo & Customize" button on the product page to get started. From there, you'll upload a photo of your young athlete. The ball, already locked in place within the frame, shows you exactly where the action will "break through." Drag, drop, and resize your photo until the placement looks just right, and add any text you'd like, like a name, date, or team. Once you're happy with how it looks, click "Add to Cart" and you're done.
Can I use my own photo, or do I need a professional one?
Your own photo is perfect. Most of our favorite frames come from everyday photos taken on a phone, whether it’s from the sideline, a tournament, or a backyard practice session. There’s no need for a professional photo shoot.
The best photos show your young athlete kicking a soccer ball toward the camera, so the 3D ball looks like it’s flying right out of the frame. Don’t have one like that? No problem. You can have your athlete pose as if they’re kicking a ball, without an actual ball in the picture. Have them swing their leg through, as if they’re making contact, and leave some open space near their foot so the 3D ball has room to burst out of the frame.
If your photo already has a ball in it, our built-in AI-powered editor can remove it for you. Just make sure your photo is high resolution so the ball placement and print quality look their best.
What if my photo isn't a perfect fit for the frame?
No problem! Our customization tool includes a built-in AI-powered editor that helps your photo match the frame. If your photo already has a soccer ball in it, you can remove it so the 3D ball coming out of the frame is the star of the show. You can also use the tool to clean up the background or touch up other details. Just upload your photo, click "Edit with AI" to make your edits right in the customizer, and preview the result before you add it to your cart.
Can I use a printed photo I have at home or print one later?
Absolutely! BreakOut Frames holds a standard 8" x 10" photo, so you can use your own printed photo or add one later. Just click the "Buy Frame Only" button on the product page to get the frame with the acrylic front and 3D soccer ball, plus a template to help you line up your own 8" x 10" photo. You can even swap out photos anytime to keep your frame updated with new memories!
Can I add a name, date, or jersey number to the frame?
Yes! Just click the “Text” button in the editor to add text on top of your photo. You can choose from a wide variety of font styles, colors, and sizes, then drag and drop the text wherever you like. It’s a great way to add a name, game date, team name, or jersey number to make the frame even more personal.
Can I preview my frame before it's made?
Yes! After you upload your photo, you have two ways to preview your frame. Click the 3D preview thumbnail to see a 3D view of your frame with your photo in it. Or click the Preview button to see how your photo will look cropped inside the frame, without the soccer ball coming out of the front. Take your time and adjust as needed until you love the way it looks, then click “Add to Cart.”

What are the frames made of?
Our frames have clean rectilinear lines and a square profile. The molding has a composite wood core with a laminate wrap, and the sleek 1.25" frames come in satin black, satin white, or natural grain wood. The front of each frame is clear acrylic, which protects your photo while letting the 3D ball come out of the front.
What is the print quality of the photo?
You’ll receive a crisp, high-quality 8" x 10" portrait printed on 100% cotton fiber, acid-free fine art paper using archival quality pigment inks. It’s the same kind of paper and ink used for gallery prints, so your photo is made to look sharp and hold its color for years to come.
How much does the ball protrude from the frame?
The ball extends a few inches beyond the front of the frame, creating a dramatic “breaking through the glass” effect while still sitting securely and safely within the frame’s structure.
How can I mount my frame?
Each frame comes with sawtooth hangers already attached to the back, so it’s ready to hang right out of the box. You can mount it on the wall with a nail or screw, or use popular adhesive strips like Command™ Strips if you’d rather not make a hole.
How do I care for and clean my frame?
Caring for your frame is easy. Simply wipe any dust off with a damp cloth. The frame is made from durable materials that are scratch and break resistant, so it’s built to hold up to everyday display.
Shipping & Returns
How is the frame packaged for shipping?
Each frame is carefully packed by hand with protective materials, such as corner protectors and plastic wrap, to keep both the frame and the 3D ball safe in transit. We want your frame to arrive in perfect condition, ready to display or give as a gift.
Where does the order ship from?
We print the photos, assemble the art, and make the frames in Wisconsin. Everything will ship directly from our workshop in Appleton, Wisconsin.
How long will my order take to ship?
With all our frames being shipped from the USA, we offer exceptional delivery times and primarily use USPS and UPS depending on your shipping choice and location. Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days and express shipping typically takes 1-2 business days. Please note, these shipping times indicate the time spent in transit once production is complete.
Do you ship internationally?
Not at this time. We currently ship only within the United States.
What's your return/exchange policy?
We stand behind every frame we make. If you are not 100% satisfied with your order for any reason, contact us within 30 days and we'll work with you until you are – whether that means a repair, a replacement, or a full refund.
